Our History

In 1885, Johann Rechberger founded the company in Linz as a trading business for porcelain and tableware.

The former carriage house of the Linz-Budweis horse-drawn railway initially served as a storage room. In 1959, Rechberger was acquired by the Schachermayer entrepreneur family, and gradually expanded into a wholesaler operating throughout Austria.

At the top of the industry

Today, Rechberger is the tableware specialist for gastronomy and retail with locations in Linz, Vienna, and Innsbruck. Around 200 employees take care of customer concerns – from purchasing to marketing and order picking. Ninety colleagues are the tableware specialists and contacts for all questions relating to our range.

Our customers

Rechberger serves three main customer groups: hospitality and hotels, retail (specialist and furniture retail, wholesale, cash&carry markets), as well as institutional catering. For these sales channels, there are tailored assortments, individual services, and specially trained employees

The new GQ

Since October 2020 the tableware quarter has served as a hub and innovation center for the entire tableware market. A unique, central place for inspiration and ideas, information and expert advice - well planned, carefully considered, and visionary, the new home of the Rechberger family business invites visitors to a special experience. On nearly 1,400 m², more than 20,000 products from the various product ranges are displayed.

The Tableware Catalogue

Our annually published tableware catalogues are also available online, and combine an assortment of currently more than 24,000 items for catering, hotels, retail and communal catering. Divided into two volumes with 15 product groups on over 2,700 pages, you will find everything related to table culture with glasses, porcelain, cutlery and accessories, as well as, of course, a huge selection of catering supplies for the professional user.
